The 3 acute trusts of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust have merged their purchasing and supply chain management teams to support the Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care System (ICS).
The operation will be structured on a hub and spoke model with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as the main organization.
The Deputy Head of Sourcing will assist the Head of Sourcing in leading a skilled Sourcing Team, ensuring compliance with public sector policies, the NHS legal framework, and internal budget constraints to achieve annual objectives successfully.
This role involves delivering tangible cash savings and efficiency improvements as part of the cost enhancement plans of BSW organizations.

Adhering to financial instructions, procurement policies, and standing orders, the Deputy Head of Sourcing will manage the sourcing activities of BSW ICS in collaboration with clinical divisions, corporate departments, ensuring EU-compliant procurement and cost-effective supply agreements with no compromise on services or patient care.

The Deputy Head of Sourcing will supervise a dispersed Sourcing Team across the 3 acute hospital sites to achieve efficiency savings through an agreed annual work plan, working closely with Divisional/Directorate leads and Financial Services to optimize commercial agreements for each BSW ICS organization.

Engaging in complex and high-value procurement projects, the Deputy Head of Sourcing must demonstrate strong commercial expertise in various product and service categories.

Collaborating with the Head of Sourcing, Supply Chain Co-ordination Limited (NHS Supply Chain), and national category towers, the Deputy Head of Sourcing aims to achieve sustainable annual efficiency savings aligned with each trust's cost improvement plan.

With a focus on non-pay activities, the Deputy Head of Sourcing will manage a project portfolio related to each trust's non-pay cost improvement plan and collaborative initiatives.
