Development Chemist - Suffolk - Permanent

Salary:
Negotiable, dependant on experience

Benefits:
25 days holiday plus bank holidays, bonus, enhanced pension (employer contributes 7%)

Working hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:30 to 16:30 or 8:30 to 17:30

Reed Scientific is recruiting for a Development Chemist for our client based in Suffolk.

In this role you would undertake development projects involving distillations and will aid in the scale up process, taking products to production.

Responsibilities

To undertake Documentation, Maintenance and tasks as directed by the Director of Operations;
Plan, oversee and carry out distillations and lab / research scale manufacture of chemicals.
To assist in any problem solving and trouble shooting,
Be responsible for and run development projects, assisting the R&D team in the scale up to production scale.
Support the Director of Operations in running the distillation room.
Adhere to the QC system, Policies, SOP'S and work instructions and complete necessary paperwork.
Use the ERP system to enter results and maintain the record base.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer expectations are met.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required.

Knowledge and experience of analytical techniques and operation of GC, HPLC, FITR, KF and titrations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Previous experience of working within Chemical or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industries is preferred.
Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving in a chemical production R&D laboratory would be a great advantage.
The ability to work to strict and short deadlines is essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required as you will work in a small team.
