Our School

As part of our school improvement journey, we have clear plans to ensure that outcomes continue to improve, and we are pleased that GCSE outcomes in Summer 2022 far exceeded outcomes in Summer 2019 (pre-Covid), and this continuing trend of improvement was seen in examination outcomes in Summer 2023.Our team approach is evident in everything that we do, and this has been a key factor in securing school improvement in recent years.

Staff turnover at Sir Thomas Boughey is incredibly low, which is largely due to the supportive, caring environment.

We have a number of staff who were once students at the school and they were eager to return as teachers in order to continue to offer the support, care and guidance that they experienced as students.

Staff development is also a key priority and we offer a comprehensive and bespoke CPL package. Being part of United Endeavour Trust also provides additional opportunities for collaboration and Continued Professional Development.

Many staff have experienced internal promotion, including a number of staff who started as a Newly Qualified Teacher and progressed to the Senior Leadership Team, thus demonstrating the range of career opportunities that are available at Sir Thomas Boughey Academy.
