Osman Consulting is seeking a Principal Investigator (PI) to work as part of a small team with immediate start until 1st December 2024.


The PI will be responsible for conducting of one or more research studies focused on NW Syria and will work closely with the Syria Country Director.

The PI is responsible for the management and integrity of the design, conduct, and reporting of the research studies and for managing, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of any collaborative relationships.

The PI will be considered part of the broader research directorate.


Roles and Responsibilities:

The PI will:

  • Design and conduct data collection waves for the specific study protocols defined in the research agenda. This includes backchecks and data cleaning.
  • Develop and/or choose appropriate research tools and methods to use in order to undertake effective research on the question identified.
  • Define an appropriate analysis plan, including for the writing and publishing of manuscripts.
  • Write and review high level research products in line with the studies and questions identified.
  • Ensure that research is conducting in line with FCDO's ERICC ToR and the consortium's overall approach to the project as outlined in the ERICC proposal
  • Uphold all necessary standards to ensure that research undertaken is compliant with FCDO's Ethical Research Guidance.
  • Author and publish various research outputs, including academic articles to be published in highranking peerreviewed journals.
