About the Position:

The Governance and Integrity lead has a key role in providing a wide range of corporate secretarial and governance services to British Rowing. They act as the main point of contact for integrity and grievance matters, and are responsible for leading British Rowing's Anti-Doping strategy.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Governance:

  • Provide high-quality company secretarial services to British Rowing, committees, and Task and Finish groups, and serve as the Company Secretary
  • Collaborate with board and committee chairs to plan annual work calendars
  • Offer secretarial support to British Rowing regions
  • Organize, prepare meeting packs for, attend, and minute committee and board meetings
  • Coordinate the Annual General Meeting and other general meetings, write the Annual Governance Statement, and gain Board approval

Integrity, Grievances, and Anti-Doping:

  • Act as the main contact for integrity matters with key stakeholders such as Interpol, the IOC, and UK Sport
  • Lead the oversight of Integrity Policy and procedures and their implementation
  • Develop and deliver integrity education, including introducing Integrity Leads in clubs
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance cases within the sport
  • Lead the Anti-Doping strategy and annual training requirements

Your Profile:

As the Governance and Integrity lead, you will be primarily responsible for providing top-notch company secretarial services and governance support. Additionally, you will oversee British Rowing's actions concerning Integrity, Grievances, and Anti-Doping. We seek a confident team player with a proven track record of driving projects forward, excellent personal skills, and effective communication abilities.


Mandatory Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • ICSA part or fully qualified (or relevant professional qualification)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, experience with board/C-Suite stakeholders

  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing with peers
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage priorities
  • Design and implement new working methods based on best practice
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Experience in People Management

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of the sports sector or non-profit organizations
