We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and pro-active colleague to join a well-established high performing team of 7 Breast Radiologists to provide both symptomatic and screening Breast services.
There will be a commitment to General Radiology services as part of this post and a specialist interest may be able to be accommodated.
The post will come with out of hours acute imaging support- maximum 1:7 provision.
Main duties of the job
Full time Locum Consultant Radiologist with expertise in Breast Imaging for Breast Services and Diagnostic Imaging within Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with existing colleagues within Breast Imaging, to maintain and expand a comprehensive, high quality screening and symptomatic breast Service.
The appointee will also be part of a wider team of over 50 Consultant radiologists providing sub-specialty and General Radiology services across the Trust.
The post will have a commitment to support a range of diagnostic services including CT, MRI, plain film reporting and ultrasound examinations.

The Breast unit at Nottingham City is one of the largest in the country, treating in excess of 600 new cancers per year, diagnosed from over 8000 new referrals to the "one stop" Breast clinic.
Breast Screening is provided as part of the National Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) with an eligible population of around 118,000.

Person specification
Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC
- Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register
- Within 6 months of achieving CCT at the time of interview
Essential criteria
- FRCR
- MRCP, MRCS or other professional or higher qualification.
Essential criteria
- Completed approved Breast Imaging and Breast screening training.
- Experience in advanced imaging techniques.
- The ability to develop novel solutions to clinical problems
Essential criteria
- Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
- Able to develop, present and implement coherent ideas for service development/delivery
- Able to delegate appropriately.
- Able to work within a team.
- Completed an appropriate management course
- The wish to develop and use leadership skills within the Breast team.
- The desire and ability to become a national opinion leader in Breast imaging
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in Clinical audit
- Able to teach and support junior staff effectively.
- Track record in radiology research preferably with original publications related to Breast Radiology
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel between City Hospital Campus and Queen's Medical Centre campus
- Evidence of Level 3 Safeguarding Children (Paediatric positions only)
