Bale Plant Operator - Isover - Runcorn

You'll be working with our Isover brand - a manufacturer of high performance, environmentally sustainable glass mineral wool insulation for thermal, acoustic and fire safe solutions.


The purpose of the role is to is to assist in driving the Company to the forefront of safely producing quality products whilst providing the best customer service at the lowest delivered cost with no impact on the environment.


Key Responsibilities
Following extensive training, the individual will carry out the following:

  • Operate the Hot process with responsibility for the Batch House, Batch transport, Melter, Batch charger, Cullet plant Forehearth, Fiberisation including services (MF, Binder, washwater etc.), Forming section and Transfer
  • Carry out corrective action on equipment and processes to ensure optimum operational parameters are maintained
  • Liaise with both the Hot End Manager and Hot End SL with regard to operational issues of the Hot Process
  • Liaise with the Hot End SL and Shift Manager with regard to safety, quality or production issues
  • Ensure that all maintenance requirements are brought to the attention of Engineering personnel
  • Carry out the process and quality checks for the products produced, carry out corrective action where necessary and input the relevant information into the Companies quality/process systems
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company's health and safety policy and to any statutory legislation including our Environmental permit
  • Complete detailed log entries for shift activities
  • Inspect plant and machinery and all working areas ensuring they are kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition
  • When necessary, ensure that the delivery of raw materials is effectively handled
  • In a plant down situation, ensure all standard procedures are followed
  • Actively participate in safety audits, safe work practice training and reviews, problem solving and planning for the plant and shift

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • FLT license
  • Working within a manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Standard operating procedures for all tasks undertaken
  • Line Problem Solving
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience of working alone and sometimes unsupervised
