The University Library is looking for a self-motivated, flexible individual, with good communication skills to join our Acquisitions & e-Resources Team on a fixed term basis, covering for a maternity leave.


The primary focus of the role is to support the A&E Manager in all areas of e-resource management and procurement.

The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of e-resources, including renewals, authentication, and access issues. They will liaise with colleagues in other areas of the Library and University, and with suppliers and aggregators. They will be expected to be able to use their initiative to deal with complex queries.

The postholder will use the Library Management System (Sierra) to manage e-resource orders and to record associated financial and other information.

Supervision of Library Assistants when working on e-resource tasks will also be part of the role.

You will have been educated to Higher or equivalent school level. You must have experience of purchasing and/or financial procedures, and experience of Library e-resource and/or acquisitions processes.


You will be able to work alone and as part of a team, also to work under pressure to targets and deadlines.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate well with work colleagues both inside and outside the Library, and with suppliers.

This is a full time hrs per week), fixed term contract from 8 May 2023 to 8 March 2024, to cover a period of staff maternity leave. An earlier start date can be negotiated, and job shares may be considered.

Secondments from existing, standard staff, will be considered.

£25,285 - £28,929 per annum, pro rata (£25,742 - £29,605 per annum pro rata from 1 August 2023)
