Description
Main Responsibilities:
1.
Machine Setup and Operation:
- Perform machine setup, including loading tools, fixtures, and programs as per work instructions.
- Operate _Heidenhain_ CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as required to maintain optimal performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of the machines to ensure proper functioning.
2.
Production Efficiency:
- Maintain production schedules by monitoring machine operation and making necessary adjustments to optimize cycle times and minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tool changes, lubrication, and coolant replenishment, to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
3.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on produced parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform inprocess inspections and adjust machine settings as required to maintain product quality.
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to address any nonconformance or quality issues promptly.
4.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures when performing maintenance tasks or troubleshooting machines.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations, including maintaining accurate production records.
5.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Identify and resolve basic machine issues, such as tooling problems, program errors, or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspection, and minor repairs.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians for complex repairs or maintenance requirements.
6.
Additional:
- Engaging in 5S, HSE and continuous improvement projects within the machining department
- Supporting the Machining department in other production tasks when the business requires _bandsaw, drilling, tapping etc._
- An understating, interest and enthusiasm for manufacturing and engineering in practical terms
- Solid understanding of CNC machine operations, tooling, and programming principles.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Innovative and proactive problemsolving
- Willing to work overtime to support business needs as and when required
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them.
Desired experience and qualifications
- Previous experience operating _Heidenhain_ CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Shift work _(2week rotation)_
Salary:
£13.51-£15.29 per hour
