An exciting full-time opportunity for a fixed term of 1 year has arisen for a highly motivated, passionate and adaptable Urology Cancer Support Worker to join the Urology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team based at Watford General Hospital.


Under supervision of the Urology Cancer CNS Team, the post-holder will provide a high quality level of support to urology cancer patients and their families throughout their cancer trajectory including living with and beyond cancer.


The post-holder will also be required to track and navigate patients through the pathway in accordance with the Cancer Waiting Times and 28 Day Faster Diagnosis.

The post-holder will be pivotal to proving holistic support as well as facilitating a smooth and timely pathway. They will carry out both a clinical and administrative role.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.


The trust has recently gained 'teaching hospital' status which reflects the dedicated work of many teams and individuals who have set the standard for delivering high quality training, learning and education at all levels of the workforce.

The successful post holder will need to be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have confidence in communicating with staff at all levels within the organisation as well as patients and families.


The post-holder will also be able to prioritise their workload in order to meet competing demands and they will be able to work as a team.

They will work particularly closely with the Urology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists and MDT Co-ordinators.

They will be a highly valued member of the team and well supported.
