Distinct Recruitment are currently working with a company in Milton Keynes who are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join their team.
As well as professional experience in a senior financial role, you will also be hands on with great communicationskills and the ability to support and develop a team.
You will have a strong track record of working in a similar role.You will be well organised with a high level of attention to detail and an enthusiasm for following process and getting things right firsttime.
It is an essential aspect of the role that you can communicate across the organisation at all levels, using language and terminology that is both accessible and empowering.
You will have enhanced analytical skills and capacity to make quick but rationaldecisions.
This role will support the Senior Finance Manager as part of the finance function based in the Milton Keynes office.
The individual will be involved in all aspects of the department, supporting internal departments with accurate and timely information, inorder to assist the Senior Finance Manager and the executive teams with the decision-making processes.
Act as mentor and support to other team members in their respective roles throughout the accounting period.Job Specification:
- Financial accounting and reporting through to Statutory Reporting
- Management reporting, and leading on the midrange business plans, budgets, forecasts etc.
- Support on financial systems, procedures and internal controls
- Ensure accurate and timely financial and management reporting, including monthly management accounts and balance sheet control
- Maintain accurate month end close folders to external audit.
- Lead on the annual external audit as required.
- Lead on the annual budget process including periodic reforecasts and projections
- Support and lead on prime costing and prime cost workflow
Education and Experience:
- Accountancy qualification or significant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages with strong/Advanced Excel skills
- Up to date knowledge of current accounting standards and practices
