Permanent Cook (Part time Nursery Cook)

Location 100 Blinco Grove, Cambridge, CB1 7TS


YMCA Childcare Blinco Grove is an Ofsted rated 'GOOD' setting in Cambridge, providing childcare for children aged between 3 months and 5 years.

Our nursery is open 51 weeks a year, between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We are easy to get to, with good train & bus links. There is free on street parking nearby.


We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, excited and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our busy Childcare provision in Cambridge.


You will be responsible for designing a menu that is healthy, balanced and meets the dietary needs of the children and families who use our services.

You must be able to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and complete the necessary paperwork to a high standard. The role will also involve planning and delivering some children/parents cooking activities as required.

You should be have the following qualities:

  • Have a catering qualification
  • Be able to work on your own initiative within time constraints
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be approachable and friendly

Days and Hours Up to 16 hours per week, Monday-Friday.


Salary and Benefits Annual Salary £8,777 (£10.55 per hour) plus additional benefits.
