Duties & Responsibilities
Outreach & Detached
To be responsible for supporting, organising and the development of the street-based programmes of activities for children and young people.
This work will be delivered on a weekly basis engaging with children and young people in various outdoor environments such as streets and parks.
Working as part of a team to disrupt and deescalate potential conflict with young people when they have finished schools.
Locations could be in different parts of the city from Aston, Newtown, Kingstanding, Sutton etc, however transportation will be provided.
To work directly with young people helping to develop their confidence, self-esteem, personal and social development to make better choices about their lifestyle and mental well-being.
To advise line manager/advisory committee on the needs of young people and to take responsibility for the design, delivery, monitoring, and development of service provision.
To work within the Birmingham Urban Rhythm Network policies and procedures on equal opportunities in all aspects of service delivery, actively promoting services to meet the needs of disadvantaged and minority groups.
To work as a member of a team and as team leader where appropriate, liaising with other relevant services and agencies or stakeholders to assist in meeting the needs of the service.
To attend regular supervision/appraisal sessions with the line manager in accordance with current arrangements for the supervision of part-time workers.
To take all necessary action to ensure that health and safety responsibilities are discharged in respect of Birmingham Urban Rhythm Networks policies and procedures.
This post necessitates a commitment to ongoing training and the postholder is expected to attend relevant training sessions as agreed, and to attend team meetings as required.
