Where you will be working:

This role will be generally be based in our London office (Close to Euston Station). It will include Travel as required to sites through the year and other European and international locations as required


Responsibilities:


Reporting to our Director of Sustainability, Policy and Communications, the Sustainability Manager's role is responsible for facilitating the company's sustainability, ESG and stakeholder engagement strategy, including the annual sustainability report.


Responsibilities include:

Sustainability: Work with the Director of SP&C to deliver the Sustainability Report on operational assets and those in construction where contractually engaged.

Brand Protection:

Administer the company's ESG strategy and support the long-term plan, focusing on reducing our environmental impact, increasing our social value (to communities and as an employer) and support good governance across the portfolio.

Government Policy (Including EU) Working with the Director of SP&C to understand, inform and facilitate key policy issues that will impact Encyclis and the industry, including analysis for the business. Draft necessary recommendations for board or investor consideration (for example ETS and change to the waste hierarchy)

  • UK & EU Stakeholder Engagement & Industry Working Groups support engagement for Encyclis with industry groups. Understand key policy directives and summarize to inform and influence. Engage with stakeholders across the business in a consistent manner to foster positive relationships.
Assess and research emerging projects and technology for sustainability impact as and when they become relevant to Encyclis


Qualifications:

  • Qualifications:Degree level with industry knowledge preferred
  • Experience Required:
  • Two years+ experience in sustainability orientated role
  • Qualification or extensive knowledge of environmental affairs
  • Understand government policy and how new policy and legislation is developed
  • Commercial awareness
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proven track record managing relations with third party stakeholders

  • Wellrounded people skills: able to engage teams of people to achieve or exceed expected results.
  • Collaborative approach to delivering solutions. Confident working in project teams, sometimes as leader other times as supporting member.

  • Firstclass communicator orally and in writing. Able to produce written technical reports of high quality. Comfortable presenting the findings to nontechnically qualified executives.
  • Well organised and structured in the management of electronic information
