Description
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional learning needs? Are you trained in the use of tactics to best support students with their wellbeing and mental health in order to enhance their learning? If you're a skilled and passionate SEMH specialist or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Team Educate would love to hear from you

This role will involve supporting and working with pupils with a range of varying learning needs, including those with ASC, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The ability to support pupils within their lessons by building and nurturing strong relationships will be essential, along with an understanding and reassuring nature.

Many of the pupils in the school will have EHCPs and many are working significantly below the national average for attainment, so experience of supporting pupils academically and emotionally will help ensure success in the role.

Experience in working with challenging behaviour and defiance will also be beneficial for this role.

Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide support and assistance to children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Use your skillset to communicate and forge strong relationships with all learners and foster engagement in the classroom, utilising wellrehearsed engagement strategies.
  • Assist in the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
  • Collaborate with specialist teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide a calm and consistent response to help young pupils regulate their emotions.

Experience required of Teaching Assistants:

  • Previous experience of working with children or young adults in an educational or specialist setting.
  • Level 3 Qualification as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience supporting pupils in a SEN setting would be advantageous.
  • Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with children.
  • Experience of supporting students with varying degrees of additional educational need.
  • Further training in restraint and physical handling would be advantageous, but isn't a necessity for this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of children needing support in their education.

It is also an opportunity to make yourself known in one of our fantastic schools with a focus on collaboration and staff support.
