Job Summary
To deliver de-risked, winning bids well considered competitive and accurate nett prices, on time and to the highest quality.
This role is focused on preparing and winning the larger and more complex tenders for the business, managing robust and long-term relationships with clients and internal teams in line with the general strategy.
To work across different workstreams and ensure all decisions are made based on accurate future cost forecasts.Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the resources on a tenders, with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill
- To be accountable for and ensure estimates produced are robust
- To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan and coordinate external resources
- Undertake the production of tender submission documents, take the lead commercially, attend pretender and post tender interviews with both internal management and clients and attend internal adjudication and tender progress meetings
- Manage the estimate process and resources with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill
- Report on progress of the tender via weekly estimating meetings
- To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process, as well as identifying and escalating risks
- To prepare a detailed control document to handover to delivery team
- To work to the Company's Quality, Environmental and Safety Management System standards and performance criteria including delivering the objectives set
- To cooperate on matters of health and safety and follow the training provided. To take reasonable care of personal and other people's health and safety at all times
- Any other duties consistent with the role of Senior Estimator as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications/Experience
- A degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or extensive experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
- Awareness of and adherence to company policies and health and safety requirements
- Experience gained in complex and geographically dispersed construction or built environment businesses
- Excellent IT skills proficient in Microsoft suite of programmes
