Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team at Croft Avenue Care Home in Penrith.

As a Kitchen Assistant/Cook, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef/Cook with the preparation and cooking of meals for our residents while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.

Job Requirements:

Ability to work in a fastpaced kitchen environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:

Assist the Chef/Cook with the preparation and cooking of meals
Ensure that all food is cooked to the highest standard and presented in an appealing manner
Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly
Assist with the ordering and receiving of food and supplies
Monitor and record food temperatures and maintain records as required
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations

Qualifications:

Previous experience working as a Kitchen Assistant or Cook in a care home environment is preferred
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate or equivalent
Good cooking skills and knowledge of different cuisines
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Good organizational and timemanagement skills

Salary and Hours:

This is a parttime position with a total of 34.5 hours per week. The role will include 24 hours as a Kitchen Assistant at a rate of £9.93 per hour and 10.5 hours as a Cook at a rate of £10.66 per hour._

£9.93-£10.66 per hour
