Working for this global mechanical engineering solutions business, specialising in gearboxes, pump and motors and other rotating equipment repairs, both on site, from their workshops and reliability services are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Managerfor the Engineering Services side of the business.

You will live no more than an hour from Aberdeen and take full responsibility for selling the repairs and reliability engineering services side of the business.


Your duties will include:

  • Managing strategic and key customers (70% existing customers and 30% new business) value of customer accounts is around £3M per year
  • Grow the company's market share in electromechanical workshop repairs including gearboxes, motors and pumps
  • Extensive time spent out seeing customers
  • Developing opportunities for engineering services work and cross selling this to existing customers
  • Promote the company's reliability services offering into key and strategic customers
  • Cross selling the service and repairs side of the business to MRO product customers
  • Bring a technical approach to the sales role, building high levels of confidence and trust with the customer
  • Grow the service side of the business, centred around the Aberdeen service centre
  • Develop and manage customer contracts and contractual agreements with customers
  • Plan your geographical area effectively to maximise the repairs opportunities
  • Geographically you will cover the whole of the Scottish Area
  • Grow existing business and generate new customers away from competition
  • Liaise closely with Aberdeen's Service Centre to ensure that work can be completed on time and projects are met
  • Present to new and existing business via PowerPoint
  • Ideally you have experience in pumps, gearboxes and motors service and repairs experience (will consider MRO products sales experience)
  • You must live no more than an hour away from Aberdeen
  • Managed large multimillionpound customers ideally within manufacturing, oil, and gas, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and petrochem industries
  • Must be a car driver
  • Experience of presenting to customers i.e., PowerPoint
