MTS is currently looking for an

Exams Compliance and Improvement Specialist at its London headquarters, situated at 65 Westcroft Square, London on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis, following a recent resignation.


Job Details:

Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, 35-hour working week 35 hours per week)

Salary: £32, 000 to £38,000 p.a.

Role type: Fixed-term (12 months), with high likelihood to be permanent after 12 months

Location: Office-based role with some flexibility for home working, but usually based at our Head Office at 65 Westcroft Square, London, W6 0TA, UK.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Manage all exam audit frameworks and checklists, which includes creating these if they do not already exist.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of an annual exams internal audit and compliance plan, developed and implemented with support from the Exams Manager and Head of Operations.
  • Conduct inperson internal exam audits across all MTS's venues, reporting on exam compliance aspects as well as softer performance, customer care or venue experience aspects.
  • Share and implement learnings from the internal audits and support a culture of continuous improvement in all of MTS's exams.
  • Introduce and oversee a mystery shopping programme across MTS's exam delivery, recruiting and instructing paid agents to attend MTS's exams and interact with MTS's central customer care function (acting undercover) and gathering actionable evidence of how local exam delivery and centralized exam administration is performing.
  • Cooperate effectively with MTS's external exam board partner audits, whether they are announced or unannounced.
  • Attend all exam boardannounced audits, and coordinate followup actions to ensure audit learning points are shared and acted upon to defined timelines, working closely with the external exam board partners and communicating with them effectively.
  • Receive and digest all unannounced exam board audit reports, explore audit findings with MTS's external exam boards, and ensure audit learning points are shared and acted upon to defined timelines.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with relevant staff members from MTS's exam board partners.
  • Keep up to date with, and understand relevant laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Educate and support employees on the implementation of the regulations as a supportive approach and the team be ready for audit checks at all times
  • Support investigation and response of MTS's customer complaints, praise or feedback, including supporting the Digital & Marketing function with responses to Google Reviews and other online/social media reviews or feedback.
  • Oversee the management of technical exams training delivery.
  • Maintain uptodate records of all staff training completions and completion certificates.
  • Ensure effective people management of 1 team member working remotely.

Person Specification:


  • An undergraduate degree in any field (essential)
  • Experience in the examinations sector (essential)
  • At least 23 years of experience in auditing (desirable)
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, customer care and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under own initiative and confident in holding authority with both internal and external contacts
  • Growth mindset with the ability to train and encourage others to learn new skills
  • A keen eye for detail, methodical, and a stickler for process, but at the same time holding a sensible view on materiality of issue and proportionality of action
  • Skilled at delivering feedback in a constructive and supportive way
  • A good memory for policies and procedures and an enjoyment of auditing exams (clipboards and pens provided)
  • Must be willing and able to travel to other venues in the UK and Ireland for business purposes
  • Must be available for weekend work at least once per month, with time off in lieu (Monday-Friday) awarded for any weekend work delivered.
