A fantastic opportunity for a Small Animal Vet to join a well-established mixed practice in Carlisle. Option to so some equine work too if you wish.

This practice has three sites all situated within a short drive of Carlisle, making the location perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors, being so close to the Scottish borders.

The existing team of 14 vets and 6 nurses are looking to welcome an additional veterinary surgeon to their lovely practice.

You will benefit from excellent facilities, including radiography, endoscopy and ultrasonography equipment, access to MRI scanning equipment, and work alongside experienced colleagues with a varied range of interests from orthopaedic surgery to acupuncture.

This role is mainly small animal based however, there is the option for some equine work too should you wish - though this is not a must.


Key Duties

  • Opportunity for a small animal vet to join a wellestablished mixed practice situated close to Carlisle
  • You will have access to excellent facilities allowing you to provide the highest level of care to your patients
  • You will work with an experienced and dedicated team of 13 vets, 6 nurses and a reception staff
  • Great opportunity for career development with a varied case load, many complex surgical procedures carried out onsite and option to complete a certificate should you wish
  • Relatively quiet out of hours service and always a nurse on call to assist

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • You must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
  • You will have 12 months UK experience in small animal work, though new graduates may be considered
  • You must have a friendly and proactive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team and building good relationships with clients
