Katharine House Hospice offer the best care so that people in our community, affected by progressive illnesses, can live their lives to the full.


We are looking for a self-employed Counsellor to provide professional counselling support on a sessional basis to clients of the Family Support Team.

You will support the Family Support Team Leader, carry a small caseload and develop effective working relationships within the Hospice multi-disciplinary team.


We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing excellent counselling/therapeutic care to people who are affected by: life limiting conditions and illnesses; receiving palliative care; and end of life care.


You will be a qualified and registered Counsellor with Liability Insurance for counselling work and ideally you will have experience working in bereavement and loss and will have demonstrable skills in counselling.

You will be a confident team player with excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

It would be highly advantageous for you to also hold a full UK driving licence with regular use of an adequately insured vehicle, and for you to have an off-site office for sessions as well as having access to our hospice counselling rooms.

A Diploma in Counselling and enhanced DBS Clearance are essential.

Hours are to be arranged as and when required.
