The Role


Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, we are looking for a hands on
Facilities Assistant to help maintain the operational sites across the Peak District National Park.

You will be based at our Head Office in Bakewell and will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the site.

Such as carry out minor repairs eg securing broken windows, changing light bulbs, unblocking sinks and drains, reporting faults to a specialist contractor.

You will also be responsible for some grounds maintenance such as mowing the lawns.


Working alongside the Facilities Manager you will assist with the statutory checks such as fire alarm tests, water temperature checks and emergency lighting flick tests.

The role will involve some level of manual handling, working at height and working with pesticides/chemicals.


About You


You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and experience to carry out the role.

You will be customer focused with a positive attitude with the ability to work with a team, but also be able to work on your own.

You will be familiar with general maintenance tasks and have some knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

You will have excellent work planning skills to accommodate both planned and reactive operations. Experience of devising and managing maintenance schedules in relation to routine tasks. Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and work programming. Experience of operating a variety of power tools and grounds maintenance equipment.
