Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Nursery Assistant for a full time position in the Early Years of a Primary School located in the heart of Cardiff.

The position is to start immediately, for the right applicant. Teaching Personnel are looking forsomeone who is available Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30-3:30pm.

As a Nursery Assistant, you will play an important role in
caring for young children in a childcare setting. As part of a team, you will assist in planning and organising both fun and educational activities. You will meet the children'spersonal needs, including feeding and changing.

Teaching Personnel are looking for someone who feels comfortable and natural interacting with children between the ages 2-3 years old, and someone who will be comfortable with changing nappies if required.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Planning and supervising fun and educational activities
  • Managing a daily schedule that includes activities, toilet breaks, lunch and rest time
  • Observing children and taking notes of any problematic behaviour
  • Feeding and changing babies
  • Communicating with parents and staff members
  • Ensuring the safety of children
  • Helping children learn numeracy and language through daily activities

The school
The school is a multicultural, diverse community school with around 40% of pupils speaking English as an additional language. Between them, pupils speak 38 different languages in addition to English.

The school is located in the heart of Cardiff. It is a place where children are put first to ensure their voices and views are heard.

Currently, the school has more than 400 pupils on roll ranging from ages three years old to eleven years old.

There are16 single aged classes at the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
