Contract Type:
Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift pattern: 7 on 4 off and 7 on 3 off (Rotational)

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;

To proactively supervise all staff within the area, ensuring all safety and performance targets are achieved
To undertake constant liaison with peers, Senior Operations Supervisors and Duty Managers, ensuring best use of personnel across all terminals
To provide timely completion of all relevant documentation relating to accidents, baggage performance, system performance and staff performance
To implement and supervise all necessary contingency plans as directed
Ensure that all baggage requiring delivery to correct locations using a vehicle is delivered in safe and timely manner
Use hand held scanning devices to ascertain baggage detail and take appropriate action
Communicate effectively with the baggage combined control room
Read flight information and act accordingly
Have an up to date knowledge of all airside roads and contingency routes
Conduct spot checks on drivers documentation
Complete accurate end of shift report on operation
To work flexibly, adjusting to changing workloads
To manually handle baggage on a daily basis.
Comprehensive awareness of the business service level agreements
Support the business system contingency by driving bags from and to locations as required.

Experience / knowledge re Baggage Systems / Airport Operations required
Ability to stay calm and patient under pressure
Able to assimilate information, determine priorities and make decisions based on sound judgement
Good team player

Security Process to work within Aviation and Travel at DHL

Be able to provide 5 years address history
Be able to provide 5 years reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character)
To obtain a full airside ID
