Creative Activities / Entertainer

We are seeking to recruit a Creative Activities / Entertainer to join their team and provide mental, physical and emotional stimulation for the residents living within our large prestigious Nursing Home based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We are looking for a fun loving enthusiastic individual to share some creative time with our residents.

This position is for 35 hrs per week; 09:30am - 16:30pm working 5 days Monday to Friday

Pay rates:
Under 23 yrs old: £9.18p/h / Over 23yrs old £9.60p/h

Overview of what the home provides:

Care for residents who have an illness or medical condition requiring frequent medical attention supervised day and night by registered nurses
Specialist care and support for residents who have been diagnosed with dementia at various stages
Care and support to elderly residents within a residential setting
End of life care, treatment and support for residents and families

Your role and responsibilities:

The successful applicant will plan, provide and record a programme of recreational activities and social events for residents to encourage and sustain mental, physical and emotional stimulation.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Organising day to day activities with the residents
Organising one to one/group activities with the resident/s
Organising day trips, outings etc
Organising fund raising events
Arrange visiting for entertainers at the home
Ability to liaise with residents families etc

Experience/Skills:

Ideally we are looking for someone who has activity/care experience with dementia, dementia training and/or experience within a similar role.

A full DBS disclosure will be required if successful at interview stage.

Free training and uniform will be provided for the successful applicant.
