Part time Youth Mentor 16 hours - Raising Aspirations in Young People

Ongo Communities is part of the Ongo group, a charity that supports at least 700 people each year to be empowered to improve their lives.


The role


We are seeking an experienced youth worker/mentor to join our innovative Raising Aspirations project, working directly with young people from age 8 upwards, in our communities primarily in Westcliff in Scunthorpe with a salary
pro rata
of
£25,433 to join our small, friendly, and busy team.


The aim is to work with young people on our estates to inspire, encourage and empower them to grow to their full potential as involved members of our communities, and wider.

The role includes two evening sessions per week in our Westcliff based youth club

  • Skills and ability to engage, mentor and support young people
  • A keen interest and understanding of the issues and factors faced by young members of the community and in particular those aged 8 upwards
  • Ability to design and lead a range of activities for young people aged 8 to 1
  • The postholder must undertake an enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the post
  • Plus, ideally a mentoring, coaching or youth work qualification

£25,433.00 per year
