A fixed term position is available working at Deeside Community Hospital as a Band 6 Sister.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills and be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of a team.
In addition, you will be required to Deputise for the Sister in her absence making decisions and leading a professional group of nurses and a multidisciplinary team.
You will need to be proactive and flexible in your approach supporting the needs of the service.
Designated to take charge of the clinical area on a regular basis, and in the absence of the Ward Manager provide a visible and accessible resource to staff, patients and their families within the ward environment.
In collaboration with the Ward Manager promote, develop and maintain a culture within the clinical area which challenges and questions practice and promote the quality of thinking amongst practitioners.
Support the Ward Manager to deliver the transforming care initiative and work with the team to ensure that all identified areas for improvement are implemented, monitored and sustained.
Assist the Ward Manager to achieve the best use of clinical resources, ensuring an efficient and effective throughput of patients through the ward from admission to discharge.
Promote the development of services, determining new ideas for improvement within the clinical area, and assist the Ward Manager to implement change.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
