The role


Grayling is looking to hire a PR Senior Account Executive for a duration of either 6 or 9 months (ending in September or December The role is unusual in that it could be based in any of our UK based offices (London, Southampton, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow or Edinburgh).

It could well develop into a permanent role, which we'd ultimately like to be based in our Brussels office so we'd especially love to hear from anyone who has an interest in working from that location longer term.


As a Senior Account Executive, you'll be responsible for ensuring that work is delivered on multiple accounts of various sizes.

The role involves supporting day-to-day client work, monitoring relevant EU policies, taking a leading role in supporting corporate affairs activities, and providing advice to clients.

We are looking for an excellent communicator, team player, creative thinker, and a naturally curious individual.

You don't need to have a specific educational background but we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm and creativity to make the most of the opportunities at Grayling.


Key responsibilities

  • Be a daytoday account lead on communications activities; contribute to planning, coordinating actions and deadlines, and advising clients.
  • Translate complex policy topics into relevant media and communication materials for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to develop simple social media assets using Canva is a bonus.
  • Build trusted relationships with journalists and media professionals, to explore media opportunities for clients.
  • Build and manage media lists and recommend appropriate opportunities.
  • Use the full range of digital and creative tools available to devise, review, evaluate and present progress on campaigns, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in the new business process including media and digital research, brainstorms, and proposal preparation.
  • Manage departmental administration and support the team, ensuring internal processes are followed.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Proven experience of corporate communications with a PR agency environment
  • Good working knowledge of social media and the EU media landscape
  • An excellent understanding of communications and public affairs in EU-Brussels
  • Excellent communication writing, research, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, curiosity, and the ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Enthusiastic team player and quick learner
