The role will provide a professional, high quality Human Resource (HR) service to employees and internal recruiting managers; providing advice and guidance on all Academy roles from vacancy creation to onboarding, in addition to supporting wider organisational recruitment priorities.


This role will also provide support to the Academy Recruitment Manager with the development of a strategic framework, processes and activities to allow Guide Dogs to increase the number of Guide Dog Trainers and Guide Dog Mobility Specialists.

The role will work as part of the existing recruitment team and alongside the Project Academy structure.


This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year.

Essential

  • CIPD level 3 and/or recruitment qualifications, membership such as IRP, REC, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience of successfully administering high volume of recruitment across multiple campaigns, whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Proven experience of providing an administrative/coordination service to internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrable and current knowledge of recruitment best practice and legislation pertaining to recruitment, immigration and employment law.
  • Demonstrable and current working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 201
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • Clear, effective, and professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the not for profit or third sector.
  • Knowledge of integration with L&OD platforms.
  • A broad understanding of the HR employee lifecycle.
  • Understanding of sight loss.
