We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent, site-based Highways Supervisor to join our M8 account in Glasgow.
The salary is £ £
Our M8 account is to support Transport Scotland to maintain and improve the motorways and trunks across the Southwest of Scotland.
Highways Supervisor plays an important part in assisting the Operational Team and Ganger by managing all routine and re-active maintenance activities and elements of emergency response operations.

You will be responsible for:
- To carry out on site visits to gangs to help solve any issues and ensure that the work is being done safely.
- Ensure that the gang accurately records all work carried so that accurate claims can be submitted to the Client
- Brief the gangs via regular tool box talks and safety briefings, ensuring PPE is adhered to correctly
- Prepare Duty Rotas for Winter service, Emergency call outs and for other occasions as required
- Arrange and process overtime working and timesheets to Operations Manager in timely manner
- Ensure that the gang is provided with the correct materials and traffic management for their work and that it is used in accordance with the specification
- Liaise with OCR on employee availability to ensure correct matching of resources and work.
- Ensure employees absences are correctly recorded on ESS/MSS
- Arrange training for employees as necessary and in accordance with the training matrix
What makes this role unique is You will Manage the development of maintenance solutions by reviewing traffic management proposals to ensure that delays are minimised, and safety is not compromised.
You will also assist the Operational Team and Ganger by managing all routine and re-active maintenance activities and elements of emergency response operations.
We want to hear from you if you have:- Full UK Driving Licence preferably with LGV Class C
- Competent user of Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Participation in emergency and winter service delivery
- Availability to work at Nights and Weekends
- Selfmotivated and proactive in delivering solutions
Ideally you will be qualified in NVQ level 2 or City and Guilds with experience in Highways Maintenance contracts and Experience with delivering Emergency service and winter service.
