About the role
We are looking for Volunteer Advocates to support our Camden and Islington Integrated Advocacy service.

You will be based at home and, ideally, you will be able to commit 7 hours per week to volunteering.

You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role. You can read more about the benefits of volunteering on the full advert on our website.


About the service


Our service provides one to one advocacy support for people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities across the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington.

We also deliver workshops on Self Advocacy and Advocacy Awareness to local community groups and service providers.

We only operate Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and do not work evenings or weekends so you will need to be able to commit to one day/half day a week.


What you will be doing as a Volunteer Advocate


As a Volunteer Advocate you will be delivering a one to one person led advocacy service to service users across Camden and Islington.

Supporting clients to understand and exercise their rights and have their voices heard in matters that affect them.


What will make you a great fit for this role?

  • Desire to make a positive difference to the lives of those affected by a wide range of disabilities including Learning Disabilities and Autism.
  • Ability to listen to and build rapport with vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to run a drop in session for people at local community centres
  • Ability to deliver self advocacy workshops across Camden and Islington
