Paine Manwaring Limited is a long-established Mechanical and Electrical Contractor employing approx. 100 staff providing installation and maintenance services from offices in Worthing and Chichester.


We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Site Supervisor (Mechanical) to join the growing Contracting team within this long-established and highly respected contractor.


This new role (with a strong focus on mechanical) will working closely with the Project Manager, and is expected to be based on one project site, ensuring that the workforce is following the project time plan for the completion of tasks.

The key responsibilities for the post holder will be:

  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish
  • Carry out Daily briefings/Prayers
  • Problem solve and take preventative action to ensure business continuity
  • Liaise with Project Manager to report in a timely manner potential delays in project completion
  • Obtain permits to work within daily tasks
  • Liaise with supply chain to improve costs & develop project collaboratively
  • Management of staff/specialists working on projects
  • Ensure adherence to company policies & procedures including all health and safety standards and feedback issues to Senior Management Team (SMT).
You will ideally have had previous experience of supervising a site (but it is not essential), key essential qualifications are (but not limited to):

  • Experience of having worked within the building services sector, undertaking mechanical installation and maintenance works.
  • SSSTS
  • Have completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship/Indentured Apprenticeship/training programme qualified to at least City and Guilds, preferably to HNC/NVQ3, or equivalent.
  • ECS CSCS Gold Card
  • First Aid qualified
  • PASMA qualified
  • IPAF qualified
As well as a good knowledge of regulations relating to construction and related legal guidelines including H&S regulations.

You will need to have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, along with strong organisational and time-management skills. A creative approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail as also important.

You will be a team player, but confident in delegating and ability to persuade others.

This is a permanent, full time position (40 hrs per wk). You must be resident of the UK or have proof of Right to Work in the UK.
