Are you looking for a new, exciting challenge?


Would you like to maintain your clinical role alongside utilising your operational leadership skills? This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Prosthetist to have clinical and operational oversight for a group of Third-Party Provider Prosthetists, working closely with the Service Clinical Manager Prosthetics & Orthotics, and the Amputee Rehabilitation Multidisciplinary Team, whilst maintaining a complex clinical caseload in your respective clinical field.

There will also be an expectation that the post holder will provide expert advice and works collaboratively with the preferred third-party contractor, tertiary centres and the WMRC management team to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality care for all service users.

The post holder will be expected to help shape the future for the Prosthetic Service within the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre in Birmingham and the Satellite Clinics (Nuneaton, Coventry, Leamington, Hereford, and Worcester).


The post holder will oversee the clinical effectiveness of the Prosthetists overseeing the Service response to Complaints, Patient Experience and Staff Survey feedback.

This information will be used by the post holder, in parallel with Incident, Safety, Safeguarding, clinical harms and the outcomes from clinical forum, to ensure the service delivers high quality and effective care.

Be the lead for the Prosthetics Service; providing expert advice and working collaboratively with the preferred third-party contractor, tertiary centres and the WMRC management team to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality care for all service users


To initiate and lead the development of new ways of working, including service redesign, working in partnership with service leads, the appropriate Trust corporate teams, third party contractors, commissioners, patients, and others.


Liaise with manufacturers, NHS teams, industry, commerce and collaborative sources to ensure that the most current knowledge of technological development is applied to project solutions.

Work closely with third parties and internal management team to effectively co-ordinate the delivery of the Prosthetics service to all clients

Lead monthly team meetings and manage issues that arise.


Have an understanding of the national perspective and future strategy for the NHS and related areas of health to ensure that staff in your team/s are fully aware of the implications and can contribute effectively to service improvement.

Develop and empower all members of your team to perform to high standards and innovate.

Develop staff knowledge and skills to promote equality and diversity and address inequalities both in employment and service delivery.
