Purpose of the role:
The role of the Test Group is to support the development and industrialisation of new technology at speed.

We are looking for a Test Strategy Manager to join a fast paced and expanding Test department to define the overall strategy for the development of TestCapability and approach to Testing within the company Product and Technology roadmaps.

You would manage the day-to-day running of the Test Strategy team including the leading of Test Plan development and data review.

Responsible for developing standardised tests and define the approach to rationalising the capability and operation of the TestEstate.

Identifying opportunities for developing external test houses to expand the range and flexibility of tests that can be offered to the business.

You will need to ensure that the team has the right skills to deliver against its objectives effectively and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the overall strategy for Test development including Test Stand Capability and approach to Testing to ensure future developments are aligned with technology and product roadmaps
  • This includes alignment with the approach to Digitalisation being adopted within Ceres
  • Manage the daytoday running of the Test Strategy team
including the leading of Test Plan development and data review

  • Quantify standtostand variability and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead the development of advanced analytical capabilities to make better use of the available Test Data
  • Support the improvement of Operational performance through the provision of planning and reporting tools
  • Lead the development of standardised tests
  • Define the approach to rationalising the capability and operation of the Test Estate
  • Define the approach to improving data quality and lead the development of new measurement capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with quality procedures and process
  • Provide updates on Test Strategy plans and projects to the Head of Test, other Test Team Leads and dependent project teams

Experience and Attributes:

  • Experience leading a team in a technology/engineering environment
  • Experience working on and delivering complex multidiscipline projects
  • Experience of working in the context of physical Testing
  • Advanced understanding and use of business metrics, Performance Planning Management Cycle, and KPI's to transform performance
  • Deliveryfocused and highly motivated, capable of working under pressure and handling multiple priorities
  • Understanding of engineering development processes and approaches to verification and validation
  • Proficient reading and producing technical documents including mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Working knowledge of formal problemsolving methodologies
  • Working knowledge of processes to produce risk assessments and other similar safety tools, e.g., HAZID, HAZOP and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effective Analysis)
  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng level in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or similar OR directly relevant workbased development
