Trainee classroom assistant

Cardiff - Grangetown

£10.77 per hour / Monday to Friday / 8:30am - 3:30pm

A wonderful primary school in the Grangetown area of Cardiff is searching for an enthusiastic and positive trainee classroom assistant to support the year 1 class.

The school is a very friendly and diverse primary school, creating a very welcoming and warmenvironment for a new trainee classroom assistant.

The role will involve supporting children of ages five and six with their numeracy, literacy, confidence and outside projects.

Other duties in this role will include:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away materials and equipment after the lesson has finished
  • Listening to children read and reading to them
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Playing sports and taking part in various activities on the school playground with the children
  • Helping teachers to plan interactive learning activities
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents and providing support in an empathetic and caring way.
  • Helping with school trips, school events and sports events
**What you will need for this role: - Experience working with children in a professional workplace or experience personally with children

  • A strong passion in supporting children and wanting to make a difference to children's education
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
**In this role you will be provided with: - A free level 2 safeguarding course to ensure you are confident with all safeguarding policies within a school setting

  • A personal consultant who will be on hand to help at all times
  • A CPD academy with a vast range of extra training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
