Description

Reporting directly to the Production Team Leader the Material Handler wil be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the Production Team Leader with day to day material handling, process and logistics support
  • Supporting the Production Team Leader through management of material goodsin process inclusive of:
  • Daily material inbound / outbound management
  • Inbound plate quality inspection
  • Liaison with planning, supervision and quality departments
  • Liaison with transport driver(s)
  • Completion of all relevant goodsin documentation
  • Provide line side support efficiently ensuring all processes have material available prior to requirement ensuring all material is supplied correctly as per cutting requirements with all precutting plate checks completed
  • Supporting the Production Team Leader through management of material outbound movements, inclusive of:
  • Daily skelly movement (Cutting beds to scrap locations, to scrap wagon)
  • Daily line loading (Stack to machine)
  • Any additional adhoc material movement requests
  • Ensure plate storage is maintained to a high standard, organised, utilising correct locations and stored safely ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met
  • Daily management of remainder plate ensuring all items are stored safely, organised and have all relevant plate information identified on each plate
  • Supporting first off checks, end of line checks and roaming checks as required
  • Ensure full adherence to 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices at all times
  • Provide technical support to line management for incident and accident investigations and associated reporting and action closure
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them
  • Provide process expertise within team, and respond to operator queries
  • Identify opportunities for business improvements within the organisation
  • Any adhoc duties as required from time to time by the Production Supervisor or other members of the management team

Salary:
£10.85-£13.02 per hour
