Prevent Education Officer
The Prevent programme is part of the Government's counterterrorism strategy CONTEST.

The aim of Prevent is to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism, by challenging terrorist ideology, supporting vulnerable people, and working in partnership with sectors and institutions where there are risks of radicalisation.

The education sector has a vital role to play in the successful delivery of Prevent objectives within Enfield.

This exciting opportunity is to cover the role of the Prevent Education Officer and will work with educational settings to identify vulnerabilities and risks, deliver training, build and maintain a network of contacts to improve coordination of Prevent activity.

The successful applicant will work with schools to increase compliance with the Prevent duty, help shape local strategy and deliver interventions to strengthen resilience to all forms of extremism.

This is a high profile role and we will require you to:

  • have experience of working within educational settings,
- have excellent communications skills,
- influence and engage a wide range of partners and stakeholders,
- be politically astute,
- have confidence and resilience,
- have or willing to undertake a CTC/SC Security clearance.

The post is initially offered on a contract until the end of March 2024, with possible extension to March 2025 and further depending on renewed funding being available.

A secondment from the education sector may be considered.

Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly, including attending and events outside of normal working hours when necessary.

A current diving licence and the use of own vehicle would be helpful.
