(NIS) Technical Specialist

Scotland - travelling to different sites so Full Driver's License required.

p/day Inside IR35


Parity Group are delighted to partner with a leading utilities client within the
public sector, who are looking to recruit a
Network and Information Systems Technical Specialist/Engineer.


**The role has a daily rate of

  • 350p/d, and the contract will see you Inside IR35.**This main purpose of this role is to support the NIS Compliance project, working closely with Operational teams; ensuring the adoption of NIS governance is greeted with excitement, measuring ongoing compliance, and taking action to remedy any nonconformities is done with ease.

Key Responsibilities include:


  • Embed and fully comprehend risk associated with the technology and equipment as it currently exists and be able to inform on potential vulnerabilities.
  • Help deliver, implement, and support compliance, future changes, and stability of operational technologies.
  • Review prior PLC code to investigate operational technologies, to improve the client's digital security to create a more secure environment.
  • Monitoring and maintaining communications media and provide out of hours
support as required, providing operational and technical support for telemetry

  • Administering software updates and hardware upgrades to
meet business requirements with the minimum of disruption to live systems.

  • Develop and update OT asset schematics of all inscope NIS products.
  • Fulfil any gaps in data to develop a more secure OT environment, in conjunction with information supplied by Digital partners.

I would love to hear from you if you have exposure to NIS Regulations 2018, with a background in cybersecurity or any type of systems engineering, along with:

  • Trained fully in 17_th_and/or 18_th_ electrician edition.
  • Technical knowledge of systems and processes with modifying servers, workstations, telemetry outstations, PLC's, IMCC and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to make decisions based on analysis of information within a very fastpaced, customerfocused environment.
  • Prior experience in calibration of instrumentation.
  • Experience in process controllers.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and an out of hours emergency standby rota
