Description
We are looking for motivated and thoughtful colleagues to join our small innovative team in Peterborough.

The Family Safeguarding Adult Mental Health Team (FSAMHT) are delighted to be recruiting to several positions across Peterborough, Fenland and Cambridgeshire.

The Family Safeguarding Adult Mental Health Team is a relatively new team that works in two distinct yet joined up sub teams in Peterborough City and Cambridgeshire.

This team is part of an exciting project providing timely, assertively outreaching and specialised interventions to Parents who have children currently open to Children's Social Care.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team including Psychology, Social work and Nursing colleagues the role will include carrying out trauma informed, formulation led psychological interventions aimed at improving parental mental health.

Interventions that the team currently offer draw primarily on principles of ACT, CFT, CBT, DBT, and attachment-based therapies e.g. Circle of Security.

The Team is part of a bigger project called 'Family Safeguarding'.

This is a whole system approach for the delivery of child protection services whereby different adult focussed practitioners work in collaboration with Children's Social care to improve outcomes for children by helping address their parents need.

The approach recognises the impact on children where parents have poor mental health and poor coping strategies, as well as problems arising from domestic abuse, and parental alcohol and substance misuse.

Other teams involved in the project are: drug and alcohol services, a domestic violence team for victims, and a domestic violence team for perpetrators. Collaboration and joint working is a key tenet on which this wider team functions and thrives and this wider team will work collaboratively with multi-agency colleagues from the Police, Probation, Education, Drugs & Alcohol services, and Mental Health teams to safeguard children.

Please note practitioners will be employed by NHS and working into CCC/PCC Children's Social Care Teams. The team has a shared identity between the two organisations.

The post holder will be working with adults/parents only, though there will be systemic thinking with the child in mind.
