£28,000 - £36,500 depending on experience and qualifications

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, permanent

Post 2: 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave,

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our educational research team as statisticians, to support a range of research and evaluation projects.
The statisticians will be specialists in the technical area of statistics or quantitative research, psychometrics or data science who will work within the research team to provide high quality statistical outputs contributing to AlphaPlus educational research and consultancy services.
- experience in coding statistical analyses (in R, SAS, SPSS or similar software). Please note ability to code in R, though helpful, is not essential for consideration for the role; appointees without coding skills in R will be expected to learn to code in R on taking up the post
- the ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
Some project management skills and knowledge of classical test theory, item response theory, DIF analysis, and regression analysis techniques are desirable, as is working experience as a statistician/junior analyst at a research body (ideally in education).
