SENIOR DEVELOPMENT SURVEYOR (DISPOSALS)

JOB PURPOSE

To actively and effectively promote the Council's vision, values, aims, objectives and priorities, putting our citizens first through the delivery of best value services.

To be a senior member of a professional team delivering development, disposal, and valuation activities to an identified portfolio of assets and projects.

To support and participate in the ongoing review/rationalisation of the commercial portfolio and toprogress allocated disposals through from inception to completion.

To provide professional support to the delivery of the Council's annual asset valuation programme.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the team of professional surveyors and colleagues provide senior support undertaking professional work in the delivery of development, disposal and valuation activities.
To support the Principal Development Surveyors in driving the Council's corporate asset management priorities to improve the performance of the Council's property portfolio. This includes providing professional property advice and expertise to colleaguesacross the organisation and supporting the Council's property disposal, asset review, acquisition and asset valuation programme and wider regeneration ambitions.
To undertake asset review, development, disposal and valuation activities commensurate with the seniority of the role, to an agreed portfolio of assets and projects.
To be responsible for the delivery of agreed targets including financial income arising from the management of identified portfolio of projects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION/SELECTION CRITERIA

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of the law and the valuations practices required in managing a mixed property portfolio

Experience of delivering multi-disciplinary property projects

Experience of asset valuations, estate management, negotiation and provision of professional property advice and transactions

Working knowledge of procurement and contract management

Ability and willingness to visit and inspect properties
