The Client:


Our client is a leading ecological consultancy, offering range of ecology services, from surveys to impact assessments and habitat management.


The Role:


As a
Bat Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in conducting field surveys to assess bat populations in different habitats.


Responsibilities:


  • Monitoring roost sites (caves, trees, buildings) to understand bat behaviour.
  • Facilitate survey teams, managing raw data, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Offering suggestions for managing habitats to support bat populations, with a focus on foraging, roosting, and breeding considerations.
  • Analyse data using specialist software, including reviewing IR camera footage.
  • Provide administrative support to the ecology team, liaising with landowners and inputting data.
  • Maintain open communication within the team and ensure equipment is cared for.

Requirements:


  • Previously worked as a Bat Ecologist or in a similar role.
  • Must hold level 2 licence of bat ecology.
  • Ability to conduct surveys.
  • Progress towards level 3 FISC and GCN licenses.
