An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Controller to join a fast-growing property business in Leeds. This is a newly created role due to the fast growth and expansion of this vibrant business.

Reporting into the Managing Director, the main purpose of this role is to take ownership of the finance function and put the right controls in place to support growth.

This is a number 1 finance role and the key responsibilities and duties include:

• Management of and responsibility for all Sage General ledgers
• Payroll management
• All tax matters including VAT, SDLT, Corporation Tax and PAYE
• Financial accounts reporting
• Management accounts reporting
• Treasury matters
• Insurance matters including register
• Liaise with internal stakeholders in the monthly update of cost plans to ensure all historic costs and future costs are captured within the plans and that any monthonmonth variances are fully understood and communicated to the Board.
• Financial due diligence relating to new projects (development or operational)
• Oversee work of Administrator and Assistant
• Responsibility for annual renewals of Group Life Cover and Private Medical Cover.

Commercial

• Work with the project director to monitor the commercial performance of the projects within the company.
• Ensure cost plans are maintained for all projects and that these are updated regularly (at least once per month) for review by the Board
• Ensure best value is achieved from the procurement process
• Actively and positively promote the activities of the company at all times
• Liaise with professional advisers as necessary and in consultation with the project director to ensure all development issues are addressed in a timely and efficient way.
• Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that the transition of all projects from the development phase to the operational phase is managed smoothly and effectively

Requirements:

• Dynamic personality able to put point forward assertively.
• Experience with PE backed / venture capital business.
• Experienced "allrounder" in finance.
• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experienced working in a fast pace, hands on environment
• Proactive "cando" attitude.
