We have an exciting opportunity for a confident, organised and experienced training Event and Programme Coordinator to join a small, growing team supporting both Educational and Researcher Development activities.


The Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning (CCTL) supports excellence in learning, teaching and research at the University of Cambridge.

We provide opportunities for staff to develop knowledge and practice in teaching and a suite of training for postgraduate students; we co-ordinate conferences and workshops relating to undergraduate and postgraduate education at Cambridge, and we help develop and share expertise and practice across the collegiate University.

CCTL includes teams specialising in Educational and Researcher Development.


About the role


As a member of the CCTL Administration team you will help ensure that the training programme operates efficiently by developing administrative processes, organising training events, supporting specialist programmes, and providing a key service to members of staff, external trainers and other visitors.


Main responsibilities

  • Organising annual programme of training events, such as day schools, forums, workshops, and other training sessions;
  • Provide efficient and proactive administration for an identified range of training programmes, events, and courses;
  • Maintain CCTL specialist online training management and booking system;
  • Contribute proactively to the development of good working relationships and communications.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Wideranging experience of administration, including training administration;
  • Demonstrate excellent planning and organisations skills, and the ability to manage multiple workloads and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent level of attention to detail, able to prioritise effectively and work quickly and accurately;
  • Excellent customer service;
  • Able to quickly understand and use new IT systems and tools, including experience of (or ability to learn quickly) website content management;
  • Familiarity with learning management and training booking systems would be an advantage.

The role can be performed as a hybrid position: number of days in the office is negotiable but flexible weekly office attendance is expected as the role holder is required to provide support for in person training activities, events and meetings.
