The post holder will provide high standards of clerical and administrative support whilst they work towards an apprenticeship in Business and Administration.

With a well-versed and diverse workforce, the role offers a unique chance to gain a qualification whilst collaboratively working with medical education staff - providing the knowledge and experience you can't gain through study

The postholder will provide invaluable support to our undergraduate (UG) medical education team.

The role involves providing frontline support to our UG medical education administrators (MEA), senior UG managers and leaders, our medical students, our educators, colleagues from across the Trust and external partners.

To qualify for an apprenticeship, you must meet the following criteria: be aged 16+ at the time of enrolment.

be a UK or European Economic Area (EEA), or have lived in the UK or EEA for the past three consecutive years.

not already be in full-time education at the point of enrolment.


The post holder will provide efficient, effective and confidential clerical and administrative support for colleagues and will support the strategic objectives of the Department in so doing.


Activities may include:


  • Providing specific administrative and business support for the UG MEAs, Learner Support Officer and the UG Leadership Team.
  • Supporting in the organising and delivery of UG events, courses and training sessions
  • Minutetaking in formal meetings, typing up and distributing within agreed timescales.
  • Operating and troubleshooting with regard to a range of technical hardware and software (training provided)
  • Logging, reporting and escalating all issues, concerns and complaints relating to undergraduate education and training
  • Ensuring that calendars, to do lists and action logs relating to undergraduate education and training are maintained to ensure accuracy and uptodateness.
  • Responsibility for the provision of quality assurance support services in undergraduate education and training.
  • Booking taxis for medical students travelling between sites for teaching.
  • Ensuring rooms in the education centres are booked for teaching that matches student handbooks.
