Your new role


Southend Council are looking to appoint a permanent full time Senior Practitioner for The Recovery & Wellbeing Team, based at EPUT which supports people living with significant mental health needs.


The council are pleased to offer a hybrid working environment, however a flexible approach is essential as you will be required to be on site during the week and will need to travel across the city, as and when needed.


You will be required to provide professional and comprehensive social care casework to a caseload of individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, some of which will be complex and sensitive cases.

Within the cases, you will require the highest of professional standards and in depth knowledge of relevant legislation and practice methods.


There will be a need to undertake practice and professional lead responsibility for a specified area of social care in the day to day running of the team including supervision of identified team members.


The Senior Practitioner will carry a smaller but more complex case load as well as offering monthly supervision to a number of the Social Workers and deputise when appropriate for the Team Manager.


In return you will work with a great team, delivering varied and challenging adult social care work with people aged 18-65 with secondary mental health needs.

You must have a passion for ensuring quality social work practice is championed and delivered.

What you'll need to succeed


To be successful in this position, you need to be a two years post qualified social worker who is registered with SW England.


If successful, you will receive a full induction, regular supervision and a robust training schedule is available for continuous professional development.
