DAI is seeking a
EU Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance Team. This will be a full-time, permanent role. The position will be based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Become part of the thriving DAI business, located in spacious, bespoke offices, 30 minutes out of Euston - with excellent rail and motorway links to London and region.


The main purpose of the role is providing support to the Financial Controller and EU Assistant Financial Controller to effectively and efficiently administer assigned aspects of the EU business unit associated requirements, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, control, and achieving deadlines.


Key tasks, duties and responsibilities:


  • Responsible for providing data to the Brussels accountants relating to the monthly VAT return
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned account areas are prepared on a monthly basis, with identified reconciling items resolved within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Reconciliation of the accounts provided by our external accountants against the Oracle TB.
  • Preparation and input of journals and to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained and transactions entered.
  • To support preparation and analysis of accurate monthly management accounts.
  • Establish and maintain an adequate document filing approach.
  • Liaison with third parties, including external accountants, tax advisors and external auditors.
  • To ensure that all government legislation and legal requirements are met at all times.
  • Recommend areas for improvement in processes, controls and reporting.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience:


Essential:


  • Actively studying towards an accounting qualification. (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proven experience in an accounting field in a similar role
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong service orientation and service delivery focus with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sensitivity in dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi task.
  • High ethical standards.

Desirable:


  • French/German Speaking
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud
