Position:
Moulding Setter (Nightshift)


Reports to:
Process Engineering Manager


Key Accountabilities:


  • Ensuring mould changes are carried out to a high standard in line with manufacturing specifications in a timely manner
  • Working with leadership team to improve reliability and productivity of machines and equipment
  • Carrying out planned and reactive low level maintenance work in a safe and timely manner
  • Assist and support in the carrying out of production improvement projects
  • Ensure facilities upkeep is maintained
  • Carrying out tool changes to ensure maximum availability of machines
  • Support local management on production when workloads are low, ensuring contractors work safely
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the production manager

Associated Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the operation of several plastic injection mould machines in the absence of the plant supervisor
  • Help with training of new operators
  • Assigning work and resources

Experience and Training:


  • Experience carrying out full tool changes and setting up of production machines
  • Good awareness or training in key safety areas is desirable
  • Desire to improve processes, improve quality and productivity
  • PLC interrogation knowledge is desirable

Essential Criteria:


  • GCSE Maths & English, or equivalent
  • Recognised qualification in injection moulding
  • Experience of working with and carrying out basic preventative maintenance on plastic injection moulding machines
  • Experience carrying out full tool changes and setting up of production machines
  • Must have a solid understanding of plastic injection moulding processes and automation
