Overview of Responsibilities

Department description

The Property Unit has a wide role in supporting UKAEA's property related activities which covers the management and operation of the Culham Science Centre as well as it's planning and development.

This includes responsibility for the delivery of site services, accommodation management for UKAEA activities, management of the commercial property portfolio and the development of the site for new UKAEA business and for new tenant companies.

The unit also works closely with the Harwell development team as the UKAEA is the majority landowner of the Harwell Campus.

The Property Unit is made up of 22 people and is comprised of the Facilities Management Group, the Accommodation and Administration Group and the Commercial Property Group.

What opportunities does the graduate scheme cover?

Construction Project Management

Graduate Construction Project Manager will support the growth of UKAEA and expansion of the Culham Science Centre the Campus Development Department manages a £200m construction portfolio, from inception through to completion.

You'll be involved in working collaboratively with internal clients, project teams, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, councils and utilities, and other relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include supporting the design and build process through all of the RIBA stages for construction projects. It will include liaising with design teams, making site visits and inspections, preparing briefs for investigations, surveys and monitoring.

Property Management

UKAEA's Commercial Property Group is responsible for the management of the commercial portfolio at Culham Science Centre and other current and future sites.

As Property Manager your role will be to support both the Commercial Property Group and the wider UKAEA departments with all aspects of property management of these and future entities.

This will include lease and facilities management and whole-site property matters such as asset valuations and business rates.

This role is varied and wide-ranging and will provide you with the opportunity to experience all aspects of property management which will enable you to shape your own career within UKAEA based on your capabilities, skills and performance.

Qualifications

To be considered you will need to have successfully completed your degree within the past 2 years, and will possess a relevant degree from within the specialisms listed.

- relevant construction related degree

  • RICS accredited graduate looking to move into Commercial Real Estate or Property Management'


You will need to be self-motivated, demonstrate the ability to work well with others, and have an interest in the development of cleaner energy.

Additionally, you will be passionate about self-development and you should have a proactive approach to your work with an enthusiasm to achieve your full potential.
