Description
BAND 8a CAMHS COMMUNITY EATING DISORDERS SERVICE OPERATIONAL LEAD

Are you a qualified clinician with specialist mental health experience looking for a new challenge within a Child and Adolescent Specialist Eating Disorder team across Bedfordshire and Luton?

We are a well-established, dynamic, innovative, specialist eating disorders team looking for an Operational Lead, Band 8A, who has knowledge and experience within a specialist child and adolescent eating disorder team and is eager to join our expanding service.

The main focus of this role is to provide day to day clinical operational management and leadership for the clinical functioning of the Eating Disorder Service, together with managing your own caseload.

In addition to leading on and directly providing comprehensive assessment, risk management and individual and family-based interventions for children and young people experiencing eating disorders, this post is an opportunity to work together with the wider CAMH services and partner agencies.

Your professional development will be substantially supported and actively encouraged.

You will be given an opportunity to develop innovative effective interventions for young people and their families in the community, and help lead on supporting integrated working with our partners in children's services.

The role will require the post holder to be able to travel between our three main sites - Bedford, Luton and Dunstable so a car user is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • The post holder will contribute to the development of strong working relationships across the range of child and young people's services and will take the lead on developing and promoting close working relationships with partner agencies.
  • The post holder will take a lead on an area of healthcare governance within the service and will contribute to local and directorate governance groups and meetings as appropriate.
  • The post holder will also play a central role in the development and implementation of care pathways in the core service.
  • The role will encompass managerial, clinical, professional and developmental aspects, requiring the post holder to work in close collaboration with the Clinical Team Lead and senior management team in the service.
  • The post holder will help develop staff to manage complex clinical presentations and ensure that the optimum level of care is achieved.
  • To take a lead in appropriate clinical issues/projects as required by the Clinical Team Lead and/or General Manager.
  • The post holder will provide operational leadership to a specialist child and adolescent eating disorders service to young people and their families who have complex mental health needs including severe mental illness.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve.

Our values are:
We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
